Whistler Backcountry Snowshoe Tour – Joffre Lakes

Joffre Lakes in the winter becomes a paradise of serene winter beauty. The lake is frozen and the low sitting sun peeks through the snow-covered trees, reflecting throughout the forest creating a glowing ambiance and peaceful feeling throughout the forest.

As you are following your guide, you can expect to see many small creeks and pillows of snow covering the boulder field below.  As you reach the third lake you will be rewarded with views of the spectacular, towering glaciers on the far side of the lake.

Need to know:

• Be prepared to snowshoe up a good amount of incline.
• Transportation is not included as part of the tour but can be added for an additional charge when you reserve your tour day/time with the tour provider.
• Minimum age for participation is 12 years.
• Participants must be a minimum of 16 years old to climb without a guardian.
• Minors (19yrs & under) require a guardian’s signature on their waiver.
• Please bring a daypack (18-30 litres), hiking boots, warm clothing, lunch, snacks, and water (2 – 3.5 litres).
• Be sure to bring extra layers for when the low sitting sun sets behind the mountains.
